Marc Gerke is a two-time Emmy-nominated director of photography specializing in factual and commercial content. A Los Angeles transplant from his native Chicago, Marc has shot across the US and in 35+ countries. His three decades shouldering a camera have made him agile. He has hunted rats in the mud-slick rice paddies of Vietnam, and been hunted by narcos on the dusty backroads of Honduras. He’s treaded thin ice on a questionably frozen river during a pipeline protest in North Dakota, and broken the ice with guests nervous to sit before Oprah at her Maui estate. He has framed up dictators, Holocaust survivors, athletes, murderers, rock legends, nuns, and seemingly everyone in between. Marc’s respect for and curiosity about the person behind the persona guides his work, and his 10 years as an editor informs it. Anticipating the shots his clients need is second nature to him.

Marc’s work has appeared on every major streamer and on all linear TV. His more than 150 credits include Oprah’s SUPER SOUL SUNDAY, 48 HOURS, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, REAL SPORTS WITH BRYANT GUMBEL, and CBS SUNDAY MORNING. His documentary work includes the multi-award-winning END OF THE LINE: THE WOMEN OF STANDING ROCK, the Peabody-winning MAYA ANGELOU: AND STILL I RISE, the Sundance documentary MILES DAVIS: BIRTH OF THE COOL, the Investigation Discovery docuseries SHERRI PAPINI: CAUGHT IN THE LIE, and several titles for ESPN’s award-winning 30 FOR 30 franchise.

Marc’s corporate clients include Microsoft, L’Oréal, Nike, Adidas, United Airlines, the NFL, the NBA, the PGA, Chase Bank, KitchenAid, SKYY Vodka, Chicago Cubs, Organic Valley, Bank of America, and dozens of others.
