Born and raised between Venice Beach and Hollywood, Matt Beard is a Los Angeles-based photographer, director, and certified drone pilot with more than 27 years of experience finding the moments that matter — and making them last.
His commercial work spans some of the world’s most recognized brands — Disney, Apple Music, Microsoft, Porsche, Ferrari, Cirque du Soleil, GAP, Levi’s, Lucky Brand, and Buick among them — with campaigns appearing on magazine covers, billboards, and multiple Times Square installations. Recent recognition includes 3 ADDY Awards and two B&W Spider Awards.
At his core, Matt is a people photographer. Regardless of the brief, the budget, or the brand, what drives him is the human element — the unguarded expression, the quiet moment between takes, the look that no one planned for but everyone remembers. That instinct for authentic connection shapes everything he shoots, whether it’s a global campaign or a single portrait.
Believing that great photography shouldn’t be reserved only for those who can afford it, Matt dedicates meaningful time to emerging artists and creators who need professional work but don’t yet have the resources to access it. He volunteers regularly with the American Red Cross, FIRST Robotics, and various non-profit organizations. Grateful for a career that has taken him around the world and introduced him to extraordinary people along the way, Matt is always proud to call LA home.
